Winter is Coming

Sat Oct 28th  4pm – 5.30pm                               Bradford on Avon

Join us for the second of our Singing The Seasons workshops, in the atmospheric chapel of St Mary Tory, across the hour of sunset to mark the coming of winter.

This day of the year has significance across all traditions. In the Western Christian tradition it is All Souls Eve, a time for honoring the saints and praying for the recently departed souls who have yet to reach Heaven.

In popular culture it is Halloween or All Hallows Eve.  It is the Celtic harvest festival of Samhain (pron: Sow-in), in old Irish this means ‘summer’s end’ and was marked by festivities to give thanks for the harvest before entering the ‘darker half’ of the year.

So join us to sing simple songs from a range of secular and sacred traditions in gorgeous two and three part harmonies as we mark the passing of another season.

Places are strictly limited. Advance booking only.

Please note there are no kitchen or toilet facilities at St Mary Tory. The approach to the chapel will be dark and there are some steps to negotiate so please bring a torch.
