Choir News February 2019

It really feels like Spring and having fully recovered from my coughs and sneezes I am looking forward to singing with you all again.

The remaining new songs (there are three) will be loaded onto the harmony parts and words page this week. We have a haunting bitter-sweet song from Sweden, Vem Kan Segla, a great arrangement of the Bob Dylan classic Forever Young and a swinging little number about the joys of singing called Comes The Singing. We will reprise Let the River Run, Calon Lan (did someone mention rugby?) E Malama, Kalinka and Thina Simunye. We will carry on singing songs we have already learnt this year.

An updated songsheet is there now. The words for Forever Young are with the recorded parts of the song. Words and recordings of the songs we have previously sung are also on the page, together with the songsheet for each one

On practical matters, those who missed out on a session in Devizes because of my illness are more than welcome to come to sessions in Bradford on Avon on Tuesday mornings. I know some of you come to both sessions in any case. I appreciate this is not possible for those who work, or without transport so I have also organised another session in Devizes. It was not possible to do this before Easter due to how the holidays fall so it will be during the half term of the summer term on Monday June 3rd – the only date our venue was available.

The fees for this half term are the same as last half £45 (£85 for couples). Cheques payable to E S Penlington please or online to a/c 29319160 sort code 30 90 54
